Spikes are the enemies in game which are deadly to the touch. The wheel bursts on contact. 
Ordinary spikes
The spikes block is the only hazardous block and is one of the three dangers, the others being The Void and the letter R.
There is only one type of spikes in the original game, but there are more in spin-off games.
